Selected Donor for Stem Cell, Bone Marrow

This is my story since I registered with Heart of America in 1991 for the National Marrow Donor Program. Here I will talk about the process and what it takes to be a donor. – you can view my feeds- I was not selected as a finalist, but continue to be active in talking about being a donor.

Bone Marrow Stem Cell Applications

stemcell.md How many times have you seen a patient interview his or her doctor? In this video segment Sam Smith, an artist (sculptor) with age-related macular degeneration (AMD) who experienced a turnaround following a whole bone marrow IV treatment, asks some highly compelling questions of the pioneering physician who treated him, David A. Steenblock. During the ensuing 6 minutes or so Dr. Steenblock explains how he uses a patient’s own stem cell rich bone marrow to facilitate relief and healing. Very telling is the fact almost 90% of Dr. Steenblock’s osteoarthritis patients report tremendous reductions in pain and inflammation; improvements that typically last for a year or more following a single treatment. In addition, heart attack patients who received their own stem cell rich bone marrow at the hands of Dr. Steenblock showed significant healing responses and did not go on to develop congestive heart failure (CHF). Antiaging effects such as improved skin tone and appearance have also been seen in those treated with whole bone marrow by IV drip in Dr. Steenblock’s clinic. If you have ever wondered what stem cells might do for your health needs or age-related aches and pains, check out this video.
