Reaction: Stem cell policy shift

Reaction: Stem cell policy shift

What do you think of the presidents decision to lift the ban on federal funding for embryonic stem cell research? Some Republicans have stated that this is largely a distraction from the economy. Do you agree with that statement? What limitations, if any, do you think should be placed on embryonic stem cell research?

A human is a human is a human is a human. The biological FACT without political “fluff” of we’re for cures and you’re not, is that the life cycle of a human being begins as a zygote and continues until it’s death. Those of us that develop into adults passed through the embryonic phase and continued to grow and develop continually until adulthood. We were no less of a human being at any stage of our development.

The issue is not whether embryonic stem cell *can* be done, but if the government should fund the research. There is nothing stopping researchers from doing their dirty deed.

oilhammer, and the right thinks it has a red phone to god. any party that believes that it has a “moral right” to peek into ANYONES window or feels it needs to save MY SOUL or anyone elses is a party that needs to be left in the dust!

The two day old embryos are a collection of cells, not much more, there is no heartbeat or consciousness. They would otherwise be tossed in the trash. Of course they should be used to save lives; either way they will not become a child. Considering this an act of killing is like considering wearing a condom and act of murder.

Adult stem cells have shown the most promise. The Left just has such a fascination with anything close to killing the unborn. It is like their blood sacrifice to the god of Moloch.
